Hi, I’m Anthony Constant — a systems and network engineer passionate about making technical workflows smarter, faster, and more reliable. This project began as a personal toolkit but grew into a community-driven resource to help engineers everywhere build with confidence.
The Engineer Starter Kit exists to equip engineers with real tools—not fluff. We aim to eliminate the friction in documentation, scripting, and troubleshooting through automation-ready assets, structured templates, and accessible cheat sheets.
Our mission is to give every aspiring and active engineer an unfair advantage—using proven resources trusted in production environments across SMBs and enterprise networks.
The kit was created by Anthony Constant, a Systems & Network Integration Engineer, out of necessity—not theory. It grew from internal tools and notes used on-site and during high-stakes infrastructure projects.
What began as personal engineering notes transformed into a professional bundle of reusable assets, now helping hundreds of engineers around the world reduce cognitive load and streamline workflows.
With continuous updates and real-world usage behind every item in the kit, this project has evolved into a trusted companion for engineers at every stage.
During my time working in Desktop Support IT, I constantly referred to these cheat sheets as quick-reference guides. They saved me from having to memorize every command while troubleshooting networking and system issues daily.
While working as a Network Integration Engineer, I deployed Cisco routers and switches for the UK Emergency Services. Having the Cisco CLI cheat sheet on hand helped speed up initial setups and troubleshooting — critical when working in high-stakes environments like public safety systems.
On a CE migration project replacing serial links with Ethernet for the Scottish Fire network, I used these scripts to automate testing of live production environments. With 8 laptops representing different customers, these scripts verified voice and data services across the Airwave network — letting me and a colleague grab a coffee while the tests ran.
During a switch upgrade project at multiple remote UK sites, I had to validate network paths pre- and post-upgrade across 100+ servers. This script automated the tedious traceroute process, ensuring the servers' routes remained consistent after the upgrades — saving hours of manual work.
Back in my Desktop Support IT days, when users requested access to unknown network files or folders, I used these scripts to locate them quickly across the network. It made Active Directory permission management faster and eliminated the need for time-consuming back-and-forth with other teams.
This tool has been my go-to for generating strong passwords offline — perfect for quick, secure password creation without relying on third-party sites.
I’ve used this template to create polished technical documentation, which not only impressed managers and colleagues but also became part of official migration handover documents approved and signed off in real-world IT projects.
